Detailed Itinerary of the 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe/ Kampala to Bwind Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your place of residence, you will embark on an approximately 9 hours’ drive from Kampala/Entebbe to the remarkable Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South Western Uganda with lunch enroute. You will have a stop at the Equator line at Kayabwe for photoshoot. Arrive Bwindi late afternoon, check in your booked accommodation and have the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

Today is the highlight of your 3 Day Gorilla Trekking Safari. Having prepared yourself for trekking with packed lunch from the lodge, you will be driven to the trekking point early in the morning to get ready for the trek with a briefing at 8:00am from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers about the Do’s and Don’ts whilst in the forest. After the briefing you will be divided in groups of 8 per family of gorillas and embark on the walk through the Bwindi forest in accompaniment of armed UWA rangers and Police for security.

Gorilla trekking takes approximately between 5-8 hours so you need to carry enough water to keep hydrated and upon meeting these gentle giants, you will be allowed only one hour in their presence in a distance of about 7 meters. During this time, you are allowed to take as many photos as you can without flashlights and follow the rules and guidelines given by the rangers. After your one hour with the gorillas you will then trek back to the starting point and meet your guide awaiting to take you back to your accommodation.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe

After an early morning Breakfast, you will embark on the journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way as sum up your Uganda gorilla trekking safari. The drive back is approximately 9 hours.
