Detailed itinerary for 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari & Lake Mburo Wildlife Tour

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your driver will pick you up from the hotel or place of residence in Kampala. After about 80km from Kampala, you have a stopover at the Equator line in kayabwe for photography. After that break, you then continue with the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch enroute. Arrive and check in at booked hotel near the park. Have dinner and spend the night at a prior booked lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi

Have early morning breakfast, carry our packed lunch and head to the park headquarters. On arrival, you receive briefing from the park rangers on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Thereafter, go to the jungle for gorilla trekking starting from 8:00am.

Trek through the forest on a gorilla search that lasts about 2 to 4 hours or more, depending on where the mountain gorillas have spent their night. On meeting with the mountain gorillas, you spend a maximum of 1 hour seeing the elusive giants interact within their family and playfully live within the bamboo forest. During these 60 minutes, you can take as many pictures and record videos using your non flash photography camera.

After the 1 hour, with the giant gorillas, you trek back to the park headquarters. Receive a congratulatory certificate at the park headquarters and then transfer to the hotel or lodge. Relax, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Travel from Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast in the morning, you will check out from your lodge then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. This is home to large numbers of antelopes and other animals like Buchells Zebras, hippos, warthogs, buffalos and several birds.

Have lunch en route and continue with the drive to the park. Later on arrive in the park, check in at your lodge and have an evening game drive. Later have dinner and overnight

Day 4: Boat cruise on Lake Mburo and travel back to Kampala

Early in the morning at hotel have your breakfast, then set out on a game drive in the park. Also enjoy watching buffalo, Giraffes, Zebras, and many antelopes. There will be a chance to see birds like the crested cranes, saddle bill stork, Abyssinian ground hornbill,s among others.

After the boat cruise, return tothe  hotel, refresh and check out and embark on a journey back to Kampala. Arrive in Kampala late evening, drop off at hotel or Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight.
